Privacy notice
Last updated 14 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or get in touch, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We've tried to keep it plain and short. If anything isn't clear, just ask.
Who we are
Number Nerds is an accountancy practice run by Katie Sign. Number Nerds Limited - 08106231 - 1 Teal Close, Waterlooville, Hampshire, PO8 9YF. We're the controller of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it's used.
We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Our registration number is ZA342246.
You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@numbernerds.co.uk or on +44 (0) 2393 553 092.
What we collect and why
When you send us a message
Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your phone number and the service you're interested in. We use these to reply to you and, if you'd like to work with us, to talk about how we can help.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
We keep a copy of each message in our website's content system for 12 months, then it's deleted automatically. The message is also emailed to our inbox, and we keep that email only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry.
When you book a consultation
Consultations are booked through Calendly, which collects the details you enter when booking (such as your name and email address) and shares them with us so we can hold the call. Calendly's own privacy notice explains how they handle your information.
Cookies and analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to understand how people use the site, such as which pages they visit. These cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings button on the site.
Keeping the site working and secure
- Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. It processes technical information about your browser and device.
- Error monitoring. We use Sentry to find and fix problems with the site. If a page hits an error, Sentry records technical details about it, which can include a recording of what happened in that session, with text and anything you typed hidden.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it for marketing. We only share it with the services that help us run the website and reply to you:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Neon hosts the database behind our content system, where contact messages are stored.
- Mailgun sends contact form messages to our inbox, from servers in the EU.
- Calendly handles consultation bookings.
- Google provides analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Cloudflare provides spam protection.
- Sentry provides error monitoring.
Some of these companies are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it's protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to us using your information, or ask us to restrict how we use it
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for example, analytics cookies)
- ask us to transfer your information to another organisation
To use any of these rights, email hello@numbernerds.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We'll update this notice if the way we use your information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
